United's 747-400's

Thu Nov 23, 2006 1:52 am

Hello, in my JP fleets book it says that the United 747's are certified for a MTOW of 870,000Lbs. This is the second highest option for the 744 which is 875,000Lbs. Did UA increase this paper MTOW certification recently by buying a higher manual weight from boeing, or has it satyed the same?

Actually, UA B744 MTOWs is 875,000lbs and has been so as long as I can remember.
Dont know where JP got their erroneous number from.

Do you by any chance have MTOW's of other 744 operators?

I use them for simulation on different airlines..

On a LAX-SYD flight in May 2006, I made a cockpit prior to departure. We were taking off with a weight of 869,000lbs, 98% engine thrust for take-off roll.

I've never seen parts of runway 25R and the surrounding area at such a low altitude until that night.  Smile

Interesting, you made a cockpit? Is that like, a number 3?

Joke.  Smile

Does anyone know what RP's 744s MTOW weights are?
