Russian Orthadox Xmas Holiday Charters

Fri Nov 24, 2006 5:58 am

We all know the Russians travel en mass just after Xmas, at the start of their Orthadox holidays, but I'd like to know their most-visited hot-spots. As Soviet era aircraft rapidly disappear from many European airports it would be nice to chase them down on their elusive little trips. Last year I did Salzburg but the weather there can be dodgy, so I'm wondering if the first weekend in January sees Russian arrivals at places such as Malaga and Palma?

Any suggestions, anyone?

One hotspot for Russian tourists, which I would think would be more visited at that time of the year, is Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad) in Western Bohemia. There are baths there, and there is an airport to which Russian flights land. In fact, many Russians live there.
