DL Skymiles On NW

Fri Nov 24, 2006 11:05 am

I just recently booked a trip from ATL to DTW and back. It's right before and after Christmas, so I actually found it cheaper to buy two one way tickets on separate airlines. I am flying there on NW and returning on Delta. I noticed that when I booked my ticket on Northwest's website that there was a place for me to enter my Delta skymiles number. Will I actually earn Delta Skymiles for the NW flight? I know the answer would normally be no, but I am not sure how things work with SkyTeam.

On another note, I will get to fly one of these going to DTW!

Should be fun to fly on one of the DC-9s. I have never flown the DC9-50, but have flown on the DC9-10.

you can earn DL skymiles on any Skyteam carrier, as long as you are booked into the appropriate class.... same thing goes for all other Sykteam FFPs....

hope that helps

Yes, you will earn DL miles for the NW flight. I flew NW PHL-DTW-CMH-DTW-PHL last year and got 2000 DL skymiles. You earn 500 miles for each flight or the actual milage. Whichever is greater.

I thought there was a spot to put it in, but in any case, call NW 1-800-225-2525 and have them enter it in, or you can have them put it in the day of the flights.
