Allegiant Video Presentation To Possible Investors

Mon Nov 27, 2006 6:50 am

This is a nice 30 minute video of a presentation by Allegiant CEO Maurice Gallagher and CFO Linda Marvin about the company, its history, and where it sees itself going. Interesting comment from Maury Gallagher calling the company becoming in the future "Expedia with wings".

The investor presentation includes a discussion of some of the choices the company has made in its operation and the results. Also a glimpse at the potential future such as international growth, future focus cities, new aircraft, etc. Lots of slides for those who want to look at some numbers.

Thanks for the link. Looks like they'll finally get that IPO out there next week.

Sometime between Dec 4 and 8 is what I hear, I just haven't heard a specific date yet.

Of course, I'm not a big enough investor to get a shot at buying shares up front so I'll have to wait until I like the price on NASDAQ to get a few.

Did anyone else notice he said they are now charging $2.00 per checked bag? I didn't know they were going to that. Making nice revenue.

One error from the presentation. The part where he is referring to the overall lack of competition on the routes G4 flies, he mentions only 3 routes have competition from other airlines: LAS-FAT, LAS-COS, and GSP-SFB. He did leave out LAS-PSP. Both US and UA provide service on that route via OO and YV.

I watched the entire presentation and I thought it gave me a through understanding of what Allegiant is all about. The CEO was very articulate and the charts presented while he was talking I thought was a plus as well. If anyone here wanted to know more about Allegiant I highly recommend watching this 30 minute presentation.

Note he made a reference to future aircraft purchases that would give them the longer range they lack now.

Very informational. I know you will like it.

I've said for the last 3 years that it is a different business model then we are used to seeing. But it seems to be finding a niche in the marketplace.

Everytime I look at something related to Allegiant I get a little more of an idea of where their thoughts are about the company.

Yep I caught that comment about another aircraft type too.

Oh and looking for tidbits is why I find Allegiant interesting to watch and study right now.

For example, in today's news I see this comment from the airport manager in Helena, Montana:
Mercer asked for a ranking of seven possible changes to the current service. While none of the changes might necessarily come to fruition, attendees were asked for their priority rankings on:
* Twice-weekly Allegiant Air service to Las Vegas. Mercer said the carrier currently serves Billings and Missoula and is looking for another Montana city.

So Helena? Butte? Bozeman? somewhere else? Or wishful thinking? That's what has been making this company fun for me.

Could someone provide a brief bio of this company? I don't recall ever hearing of it before, but I went to their website and found that they fly all across the country.

The company started in Fresno, originally offering charters then scheduled flights at FAT, LAS, LGB, TVL and others using DC-9s. From the prospetus

Quote:
We were founded in 1997 and initially operated as Allegiant Air, Inc. under a different business strategy with a different management team. This strategy was ultimately unsuccessful, and we filed for bankruptcy court protection in December 2000. A plan of reorganization was confirmed in June 2001. The key elements of the plan were: (i) debt held by Maurice J. Gallagher, Jr. was restructured and Mr. Gallagher injected additional capital into our company; (ii) Mr. Gallagher became our majority owner; and (iii) a new management team was installed in June 2001. We emerged from bankruptcy in March 2002. Allegiant Air, Inc. elected to be taxed as a subchapter S corporation. In May 2004, Allegiant Air, Inc. merged into Allegiant Air, LLC to change our entity type and state of organization. In May 2005, we created a holding company format under which Allegiant Travel Company, LLC was formed coincident with our issuance of preferred shares to outside investors. In anticipation of this offering, Allegiant Travel Company, LLC will merge into the corporate entity issuing shares in this offering as discussed below.

Thanks, FATflyer. Your links answered my questions.

Amazing! It's been around since 97 and I'm just now finding out about it. I guess I need to pay closer attention to things.

There really wasn't much to notice about them until 3 or 4 years ago when they started with this new business plan and new ownership. That was when I was told by someone to keep an eye on what the company was going to attempt.

The hybrid model they have created with low frequencies allows them to serve smaller cities with mainline aircraft to leisure destinations. It is very unlikely they will enter into a large city in the coming years, too many other flights to leisure destinations already in those.

But they very well could become the leisure travel airline company of choice for many of the small and midsized cities.
