Royal Jordanian Livery Update

Mon Nov 27, 2006 10:52 am

Has anyone noticed a slight change to the RJ livery with red added to the tail, wing tips and engines?

Very nice website, the previous was was good but a bit off the mark, this is inline with global standards.

A310F in new scheme.

I don't really like it. The white bottom goes well with the white engines. The dark engines now look outta place.. The red horizontal tip of the tail looked more 'serious". IMO this small update makes the livery less elegant.

The only small detail that I find nice is the small red winglet. If it was one of those huge winglets it would look weird.

One more airline that couldn't resist screwing up their perfect livery.

Quoting MEA (Thread starter):

The change was quite a while ago...

I can't wait to fly RJ in March. They're upgrading the cabin (and getting rid of the hideous red vinyl seats), so I am looking forward to it. All because of oneworld...  Smile
I do quite enjoy a spot of flying - more so when it's not in Economy!

I fully agree with MIAMIx707 here, its exactly what I think about this livery "improvement".

I agree, the white "breast" and engines gave it that gorgeous contrast with the dark upper section.

They've done it to highlight the engines but they don't need it. Looks tacky if you ask me.

It's odd that a livery based on horizontal lines (so to speak) then adds the out-of-place though fashionable curves to it's scheme. Amateurish and unnecessary IMHO. I also agree that the grey engines now look out of place.

These seem like awfully harsh criticisms for a livery "update" (barely) that is hardly even noticeable. I had to look very closely at the pictures side by side to even notice. I find the changes fine, but unremarkable.

I think the changes look good, and that it does look more modern now.

But i doubt 99% of people will ever notice the change at all!
