8A Or 11A On A UA International 777 Biz?

Tue Nov 28, 2006 11:52 am

I booked a ticket to visit my family in Dubai, leaving from IAD to FRA on a 777, i have 11A reserved on business class, but was wondering, if any one knows 8A or 11A is better? i was on 11A couple of times before, but then i think that 8A is also a bulkhead seat but not sure if its better or 11A is better.
any help on this?

Hamad....to be honest, its all the same. If you are in 8A or 11A on a United Aircraft, especially the 777. I would go for 8A because 1. it is closer to the exit door and 2. 8A just sound better than 11A. Business class seats are the same all throughout the aircraft....it doesn't matter where you seat.

I fly the ORD-FRA-ORD route quite regularly on United in business class. WHile in essence the seats and service are the same there is one advantage to sitting in 8A. Rows 8 and 9 are located in a seperate section from the rest of business class. This forward section provides a more private feel as these two rows are their own mini-cabin. For this reason every time I fly in business class on UA's 777 I always try to book in row 8 or 9. My advice, definitely go for row 8.

Errrr, no.

There is a mini cabin right behind F, Rows 8 & 9. Whilst this seems nice and a private cabin thanks to our friends at the FAA it is more a case of 'here's what you could have won'. With the curtains wide open into F with your view of the F service and seats...if the curtains were closed however, well it's a whole different ball game.

If you prefer the main cabin I can recommend 13A/B. The wife and I flew on the 777 and were pre-assigned 14A&B but the row ahead were free and it seemed to have a little more legroom. My mind is a bit hazy but I seem to remember the window alignment being slightly different from the norm in that row, much like on BA 777s around that...
