1-As soon as they get sold  Smile

2-Most possible A320 family.
Don't spend your money on airlines that don't respect your business.

I guess those MD's can last longer than the airline...

Yeah but this is quite easy in the case of AZ  Wink
Will be flying on a AZ MD80 in less than two weeks (AMS-MXP), curious to see the state of the plane.

well, there was something in the pipeline, that AZ wanted to replace them with Airbus A320 family planes, and reduce the fleet size as well...

Think with the current talks with AF-KL, that they will wait before ordering any new planes.

The only thing they can do is lease planes, come on, AZ is not really in the position to place any significant order at this moment.
AZ has a lot of metal heavy metal flying around Italy, this could probably be done with regionals (EM4, EM7) a lot more efficient, freeing up 32x frames.

OK so I have flown the M82 (I-DAWC manuf. 1984) this weekend and it's awful, interiors are really worn and show lack of any maintenance or care, the plane desperately needed an overhaul (+ paintjob).
Connecting flights where all on the 321, which is a beauty and is kept in a good state.
In the end I was quite pleased with the AZ experience, they lost my bag and food service was laughable, as usual  Smile

Let them merge first then they'll worry about fleet. Whenever the M82 gets replaced, it will likely be from the A32X family. There are schedule to begin reciving the first of five 772-ER's from the orginal 777 option order in February.
