Tue Nov 28, 2006 8:46 pm

This story ran on the local news yesterday about a black mold problem in the tower at DTW.

Is the mold problem real? I seem to recall a news story there a few years ago that claimed that the mold problem was invented by the clean-up industry.

Something sounds fishy about the presence of mold causing a 16 fold increase in operational errors. Did the definition change since 2004? Did the audit or reporting requirements change?

Let's be politically correct here:

"Mold of Color" would be much more appropiate.
Direct KNOBS, maintain 2700' until established on the localizer, cleared ILS runway 26 left approach.

Slow news day, but a strong enough topic to get passengers in the area worked up. Certainly the pictures they showed on television were sickening. If it was a house in this case, they would have knocked it down.

I would partially agree with that. Mold is never good, but how come black mold recently became so bad? A friend of mine recently sold his home and the new owners found black mold under a piece paneling in the basement. My friend and his wife I know idea it was there. My friend and his wife get sued because the owners claim they tried to hide the mold with the paneling. That stuff has been there since the 70s and my buddy bought the house in 2001. In some of the legal paper work it stated that the city inspector told the new owners to move out until it was cleaned up. If it was so dangerous how come the new owners never had trouble until they began remodeling the basement. My friends had the case thrown out, but it still was troublesome for them.

My house was built in 1954 and I am sure there is something bad in it.

All I know is that this is not a new story. I have read about this issue several times in recent years on the internet. I'm only amazed that there has been no resolution to the problem.

Slow news day at Channel 7, huh? I can't imagine old Bill Bonds going with a story like that.

Kinda hard to report the news while in the drunk tank, isn't it?
