You are right. You really shouldn't buy that argument, because the EK
fleet is not nearly as heavily utilized as the airline wants us to believe. As it goes, EK
has plenty of spare capacity at hands, and could start a DXB CPH
flight tomorrow if it wanted. The airline has been facing some crew shortages, though, which at some point might have precluded it from opening new gateways, but I don't know in how far these shortages continue to exist. It seems, though, as if the next European destination will be Venice, so I guess that CPH
has lost out on the much covetted Emirates service for the time being.
