VA Test Flight At SFO

Fri Dec 01, 2006 5:20 am

Today, Virgin America is strting their test flights. This is another step toward their certification process. VA 001T arrived into SFO at about 1130A and parked at A12. I was in ear shot of (FAA or DOT not sure) telling SFO that they have to use the words "Test Flight" on the arrivals board.

They even have luggage on the flight to test out the ground crews.

I was catching a flight in the international terminal and I noticed on the departure boards VA001T to New York - JFK. In place of the gate number, it listed the words "Test Flight".

Interesting...good for them. I hope they will be able to clear the road blocks and get off the ground soon.

Don't know if anyone noticed or cares, but they are hiring for positions at SAN & LAX. Two more destinations revealed? (Or perhaps I'm just behind.)

Looks like they are hiring for JFK too. Sounds like a nice product.

Our first route is from San Francisco to New York-round trip, of course. Beyond that, we're thinking initially about cities like Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Denver, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, Dallas, Austin, Houston, New Orleans, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Boston. Keep coming back for updates about specific routes as we get closer to launch.

Did the flight leave already for JFK? I see nothing on Flightaware.

At this time, the United States does not need another passenger airline.

At this time, your opinion is dutifully noted .  Wink

Check the website for more info.

We have 9" screens on the back of every seat (with live TV and movies you can pause, rewind and fast forward to your heart's content), interactive games and tons of music. You can even order food and drinks from the darn thing.
