Hello MSYTristar: do you know what cities each route originate from and if there are refuelling stops? Thanks.

All the aircraft types listed should be perfectly capable of flying those charters nonstop (unless BY is using 767As and not ERs, which I doubt).

Thanks for the heads up, I will try to see the 1230 Thomas Cook arrival.

They're using 28 tonight, should be switching to 1 with the North winds tomorrow.

Will be quite a sight to see the A332 coming in over Airline Highway.  cool

Does concourse B have access to customs?

Yes, that will be a sight!

They are coming in from Gatwick, Manchester, Leeds, and Bournemouth I think.

The only one doing a refueling stop is the B762 which stops in Bangor to clear customs and to refuel. All others are nonstop both directions.

Quoting Dalb777 (Reply 4):

No it does not...they are doing the customs for that one in Bangor.

BY's older 762ERs have issues with range on the flights, namely because they are in an ultra-high density configuration. Because of the high weight without fuel, they end up being able to carry less fuel and have less range, usually requiring a Bangor stop.

Hate to toot my own horn, but here is a rather pretty A332 at MSY.

Didn't have a chance to get out to MSY for the charters. Will they return to pick up the passengers after the cruise is over? If so any info will be great.

I missed them too. Only had a chance for the 1230 Thomas Cook A332 but she was running late.

Never did see where the Thomsonfly 767s ever arrived. Did they come in?

Is there a special reason for them all coming in? Or is this typical charter traffic from the UK, weekly, etc.

TOM7742 arrives from MSY back to Glasgow today.

Also the 762 whilst normally in a 278Y configuration normally are reconfigured for these routes. The 762 Fleet is being reduced from 4 to 2 shortly with 2 heading to Silverjet.
next flights : BD LHR-TXL J, FR SXF-STN Y, SN BRU-LHR Y, MA LHR-BUD Y, BA BUD-LHR J, BA LCY-SNN-JFK J, BA JFK-LHR J, BA

I believe these flights are to bring passengers into New Orleans to board a cruise ship. These flights are rare for MSY...only once or twice a year.

Actually, they come in full and leave full. They do at least 2 a year. Here are some pictures of the MSY terminal on 12/1

Also, does anybody have any pics of those aircraft at MSY?

They checked in at the old Frontier and Taca counters, which up until that day had been collecting a lot of dust.  Wink

VS are sending an A340-600 to MSY on the 14th December.

Also as part of a cruise ship charter

I flew out that day, otherwise I would have them uploaded

Wow! A VS A340-600 at MSY? Can MSY support an A340-600? I thought that the -600 model of the A340 has many issues at various Airports worldwide due to its massive length and very large wing-span, and I would assume that many of the gates at MSY are a bit of a tight squeeze for that? Would I be correct in saying this?
Last flights: LH 3738 MUC - ZRH , LH 3749 ZRH - MUC . Upcoming: EK 50 MUC - DXB 3-aug. and EK 322 DXB - ICN 7- Aug.

Sure, in many of the gates, it would be an issue. Still, there is plenty of space for an A346 to park.

Thanks, I guess I didn't think of that. I would love to see pics of an A346 at an airport as small as MSY. When I mean small, I mean in terms of normally does see such large passenger aircrafts. I've see a Saudi B747SP sitting down at RST once. It was in town to bring some Princes and Sheikhs to Mayo Clinic. Wow! If anybody has ever seen RST, you would know what I mean. Also, the rwy at RST is a bit short. Anyways, sorry for getting off topic.

King Abdullah flew into MSY on his 747SP. VS and LH, among others, have brought in 744s.. Countless 777s, including an AF 773ER have diverted into MSY when IAH was closed. The airport was getting daily 767 service before the storm. Large aircraft are not uncommon here.
