Does generations of an aircraft count? Good question btw. Outside the U.S., one of the single-aircraft biggies is G3 with 64 737s and FR with 138 737s.

The largest airline would have to be WN with around 400 737's now IIRC.

Isn't the question what the largest airline with just one aircraft type? WN wouldn't count, as they have several types of 737s in their fleet.

I'd venture to guess that until recently, JetBlue would have been the largest single aircraft airline. Of course, the arrival of the 190 changed that.

I will give a guess and say FR, although they operate more than one 737 type like Southwest.

Last time I checked we were up to 479 with the delivery of N260WN, and are expected to end the year with another 2 for a total of 481.

We have something like 35 or 36 scheduled for delivery in 2007, so we'll pass the 500 mark sometime around mid-year...

There were special T-shirts out for the 400th (I still have several; have to get them up on eBay someday), but I don't recall the 400th aircraft itself wearing any special scheme. Maybe a small decal, but I can't recall even that.

Maybe the 500th will be a bigger milestone...

What is the count between older 737-300s vs. the newer 737-700s? Do they have the current numbers posted at southwest.com? I know it has only been in the last 2-3 years that they've retired the last of their old 732s.

This question is becoming a little boring with WN as the obvious answer. How about restricting it further. Who's the largest single-type non-737 operator.

WN or FR. Once U2 dumps its 737's, it could be up there.

May I ask where you get this information? I don't know of any website that keeps such a detailed order history. Boeing only provides orders per model type with the first order date.

Once the Mad Dogs are gone, AS will have a bunch of 737's (yes of alot of models).

If you include regionals, ExpressJet is all ERJ's (135, 145, X45).

And who could forget Air Midwest and their B1900s :P

But seriously; Skywest, Comair, Air Wisconsin and PSA have their CRJ's (2/7/9's)

Not sure... Thinking DL only has 102 active 763's/400's total.

Last -200 flight I believe was in March.

Eitherway does not matter they do not just fly that a/c type.

Air Tahiti Nui operates only A340s but they are nowhere near as large of an airline as Southwest. Also Cargolux operates only 747s. Those are the only notable ones I can think of that I havent seen already mentioned that operate only one type of aircraft. I'm sure there are a bunch of regional operators that operate just a single type of aircraft as well. I'm guessing that the biggest single aircraft type airline is Southwest with their variatons of 737 aircraft.

This question is becoming a little boring with WN as the obvious answer. How about restricting it further. Who's the largest single-type non-737 operator.

Ryanair probably takes the cake with nothing but 737-800s. Southwest only has 737s also, but have three types.
