New Dash 8s From YYZ To New Zealand-What Route?

Mon Dec 04, 2006 11:52 pm

Hi everyone,

Just Curious if anyone knows what routing a Dash 8 might fly to get from Toronto to New Zealand (lets assume Auckland). I just saw a freshly painted New Zealand Dash 8-Q200 at an FBO at YYZ and my colleagues and I discussed possible routings for this type to cross the Pacific.

I do not know if these new aircraft are equipped with bladders for additional fuel for long delivery flights.

If I'm at work when the aircraft departs, I will certainly ask the crew but odds are I won't get that chance.

My suggestion was to perhaps use ANC as a crossover point but not knowing the possible aircraft range makes this a tricky question.

Any ideas or does anyone know the ACTUAL route??

I remeber reading an article in airliner world about a dash 7 coming from somewhere in New Zealand to YYZ. The routing it took was through South-East Asia, towards Japan then Russia stopping in ANC. It then made a few stops in Canada before arriving in YYZ
It was a very interesting read actually
There's flying and then there's flying
