CX 747-400s Within Asia

Wed Jul 12, 2000 10:00 am

Hello,

I know CX uses some 747-400s ont their Asian network between two tru long-haul flights.
Would anyone know what are the typical routes for these aircraft please?

Thank you,

Best regards,

What do you mean by 'between two tru long-haul flights'? Do you mean a intercontinental continuation of a flight that originated in HK from an Asian destination? Anyway, CX uses a 747-400 on one of their daily Hong Kong-Tokyo nonstops (it goes back to Hong Kong after that).

Asian cities that have daily CX 744 service include: BKK, MNL, SIN, TPE, NRT.

Most of CX's long-haul 744 services from Europe and N. America returns to HKG early in the morning, and will not depart again on long-haul routes until nighttime, leaving them with plenty of time to fly within Asia during the day.

As stated earlier, CX uses their 747-400s and A340-300s on inter-asian flights during the middle of the day. The 747-400s and A340-300s arrive at HKG in the early morning from North America and Europe. They are then used on high-density flights in the region. The entire 747-400 & A340-300 fleet is not used every day on inter-asian flights. Only a few aircraft. Unfortunately for CX the rest get some shut eye in the outer parking bays.

Hello,

Well, I meant "'between two true long-haul flights".

So BKK, MNL, SIN, TPE, NRT.

Thank you all!

Best regards,
