CO/NW Codeshares?

I just booked MLI-DTW-PVD 12/23 and the return 12/27 (for only $178 not bad!) on NW, but when I found the fare on travelocity they were listed as CO flights. My question is does CO codeshare with NW a lot or was it just a mistake with travelocity?

They have an extremely extensive codeshare agreement.

Give us some more route info. Unless you've already given your entire itinerary, you're on Northwest jets...
Continental obviously doesn't do MLI to DTW, or DTW to PVD either.

Yes, CO and NW do a lot of codesharing. Those flights could have CO numbers on them too, but they're operated by NW metal.

He is correct. You'd be transiting Cleveland or Newark if you were on Continental.

They code-share extensively with each other. Delta is bringing in more and more code sharing with both Northwest and Continental.

I personally think code-sharing is such a crock of crap. They should be called joint-fare agreements and sold according to whose aircraft you actually fly. Code sharing confuses the customer because they don't know who is actually responsible for providing the transportation.

People in Chicago show up daily at the Delta counter for code-share flights operated by Air France non-stop to Paris. And the two ticket counters are FAR apart...terminal 2 and terminal 5. It's a big inconvenience if they've been dropped off by a friend or cab.

I wish they'd drop the whole, deceiving concept and return to the days of joint fares. Everybody was clear on who was flying the route, who was resonsible if things went bad, who to complain to if things ran amok.
