Why No Loganair Service From Dundee?

Fri Dec 08, 2006 12:20 am

Dundee seems to be the only airport (apart from Prestwick) which doesn't see a Loganair service.

I know Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow are too close for a flight to operate, but could it not have a 3 x weekly service say, to Inverness?

Im suprised Dundee does serve more destinations other than the Scot Air flights to London City. The population of Dundee is about 160,000! I bet Eastern Airways could fill up some of its J31s or J41s to places such as Manchester and Birmingham.

Any thoughts?

Eastern started a MAN-DND service about 4 years ago, but it did not last very long. If I remember correctly the flight number on the MAN-DND sector was T3 903. It was operated on an 18-seat J31/J32.

Was it just due to poor loads? I think if Eastern and Flybe codeshared on a lot of its routes (or even had a possible merge (with Air Southwest also!)), they could offer good connections at MAN, when FlyBE take over BA Connect!

Saves people in Dundee driving to Edinburgh or Glasgow!
