Luggage Insurance Info...

Sat Dec 09, 2006 8:45 am

I am traveling next week and I would like to know if there is a way of insuring the luggage. I have my two bags full with expensive Christmas gifts and the travel insurances that I have found only ensure luggage for up to $1,500 which will not cover all the items. I need at least $4,000 in retribution if the luggage gets lost.

Do you know a travel / luggage insurance like that?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Any reason why you cannot UPS or FedEx your gifts to your destination? Surely smarter than trusting them to some rampers . . . no offense out there rampers . . . none intended. Gets there quicker, in one piece, is insured by them against loss, will cost you to send, but won't cost you to replace if lost or damaged . . .

This is generally my tack . . . has never failed me. I'd rather carry/check one small Pullman with necessities than a couple of bags full of anything.

I will explore that possibility.

Thanks!
