NZ Backtracks On Long Haul Airpoints Restrictions

Mon Dec 11, 2006 7:29 am

I haven't seen this on the site and tried searching for it, sorry if it has already been posted.

NZ has returned to offering Airpoints for all long haul fares, from 6 December 2006. This includes the Global Saver Max fare.

Thank gods they've come to their senses on this one.

They've also got a 50% bonus points & free membership promotion for long haul too.

It is still unclear whether Global Max Saver fares allow mileage accural on Star Alliance partners programs.

Well it's about bloody time! If ever there was a more mean and stingy thing to do to long haul pax... At one stage you could pay up to NZ$2,700 for a restricted economy fare to London (return) and get absolutely ZERO rewards.

At least now they're starting to recognise their folly. Perhaps someone finally took a look at what the competition was doing. You'll find an awful lot of Kiwis transfering through Dubai these days.

I received my Air points ballance on Saturday and noticed a leaflet announcing this.
