Two Syrian B747SP At ARN 11 Dec

Tue Dec 12, 2006 1:50 am

YK-AHB arrived this morning and the stand guidance was set for B742 Door 2, not B747SP door1. So the aircraft taxied fwd until the jetty was embedded in the leading edge of the wing.
Then YK-AHA arrived on a relief flight.
This has happened here before. About 10 years ago a B747SP wedged under the jetty for the same reason!
We have fixed jetties here, and even with a standard B747, the engine gets very close to the jetty when parking at Door 2.
Now at 1630Z they are both parked on the B pier.
