Libyan Arab Airways is close to finalize the deal for 25 pax and 4 cargo planes. The passenger aircraft capacity ranges from 100 to 350.

This helps the network expansion to cover South Africa, Europe, Far East (India/China)

It also plans link to North America.

It already launched 2 weekly Tripoli - Milan on 18NOV06, and considering Madrid, Paris, Lyon.

So who do you think has upper hand here, Boeing or Airbus?

It says they will announce the order this month and recieve the first plane in April. Seems a bit fast, doesn't it?!

While this is unlikely... the only realistic cities IMHO would be Montreal or New York City.

Maybe used aircraft, or Russian birds?

Mostly likely its going to be a split order to appease both Washington and the EU.

My bet is on Airbus. They will lease some planes first and then start delivery.

I would guess it'll be a mix of A and B. Too bad politics have to be involved.

And Houston, with long-shots Atlanta, Toronto, or Washington
