Hopefully the first of many more with this new Blue Skies policy...

Emerson, Minister of International Trade, today announced Canada's first air

Probably AC to ZAG since OU is a Star Alliance Member.
Maybe JU will serve YYZ finally?

Oh good, it's about time. And there I was thinking we were wasting our time with such silly markets as India, China, Australia or the rest of the EU.

Interesting speculation. As others have stated in the 'YEG-FRA non-stop' thread, AC has no spare planes at the moment (nor will they anytime soon as new 777's barely keep pace with 767 attrition).

All sarcasm aside, I see this as an encouraging beginning to Blue Sky.
The nice thing about a mistake is the pleasure it gives others.

I can't see AC serving any cities in either country with their own metal. Rather, I see them code sharing with a *A partner via FRA/LHR/VIE.

Although a codeshare with LH is most likely. IMHO they could make a go of it to ZAG with a Summer B762 service much like they do at AMS.

Probably Croatia Airlines will do the job for AC in European gateways.

Did you forget Air Canada used to fly to Zagreb way back in the mid 80s?
I can't remember the flight number but I think it shares with the Zurich flight too.

YYZ-ZRH-ZAG? can't remember if thats the correct code. If I do recall the flight number was AC FLT# 878 and 879.

My dad took my sister and I to Zagreb for 3days and two nights. He flew the plane with the captain on AC B767-200ER..

Air Canada stopped flying to Zagreb because of the civil war or something?..

Yea your right, AC flew until the Civil war broke out. I could see AC flying in the summer with a 767. The area is now re-becoming a tourist hot spot, i go to DBV as much as i can. I think if they could fly to ZAG, OU could do some connections to some of the cities along the Adriatic.
Keep the shinny side up!

Correct me if I am wrong on this, but I seem to remember flights to Croatia on the TS website in the last couple of years. IIRC, they were operated from Eastern Canada with A310s.

Sky Service has been a summer visitor to BEG for the past two years with a 757.

JU does not have the aircraft for this route so I suspect a code-share is in the offering... perhaps EK may take up JU's slots for DXB-BEG-YYZ flights Big grin Big grin Big grin

Hey
Skyservice hasn't flown into Croatia or Serbia the past year. As the tour operator we were flying for went bust. Rumor has it we will be back there this coming summer, and on a 767, if we can find one or two, as the routes used to be YYZ-DUB-BEG, with the 757, would be nice to have a direct flight from YYZ to this area, which would mean a nice layover there  Smile
