AA To Resume 757 Service To AUS On Wed. 13 Dec.

Tue Dec 12, 2006 12:14 pm

It is great to see AA 757s back in here, and it is an absolutely ingenius scheduling scheme:

AA sends the first 757 to AUS from DFW Wed. night as
AA 1121 1830-1930

The following morning, the fun begins.

AA 579 to SJC 0730-0915, turns around as
AA 1810 to AUS 0955-1510, then off as
AA 806 to DFW 1555-1455, and back into the system

Meanwhile... another 757 is sent from DFW as

AA 1771 to AUS 1350-1445, which changes to
AA 1023 to SJC 1530-1710, turning right back around as
AA 502 to AUS 1810-2325, which will resume again Friday morning as
AA 579 to SJC...

So, for Wed. evening through Fri. afternoon, AA will fly 10 segments to or from AUS on only 2 757 aircraft.

Quite impressive if you ask me!

Cheers,
Cameron

For the record, I know this has been discussed before, I was more marvelling at the scheduling, so perhaps the title is misleading.

Here in São Paulo Brazil, i can see the 777-223ER and the 767-223ER, i flown in a A300-605R and the 727-233(now retired), from SJU and to.

I've already flown with AA, in a 767-223ER, GRU-MIA-MCO, and MIA-GRU, and when in MCO, saw many 757-223, and when was at PHL saw the 757s too.

Cheers,
Werner from GRU.

For such a short flight, I would prefer a smaller plane. Much faster boarding and quicker turns.

I suppose since most pax on AUS-DFW are connecting, it isn't much of an issue for them. O&D prefer WN.

CO flies 753s to AUS. Big plane for such a short flight...

Yeah, I have always loved the UA 772's within Hawaii. Boarding and deplaning on that flight is always a blast. Sometimes I think I could gotton there faster by swimming.

Betcha they are filling them though... In the pre-Katrina days, MSY saw almost all 737-800, 737-900, 757-200 and 757-300 service from IAH. AUS always used to get ERJs/737s, but hey, a 753 works!
