Well ya, that is only 3 major US airlines. We have all those CO 757's now to consider, not to mention how many foreign airlines serve NYC and the frequencies of some (BA). It would be a long list.

Only one west coast to Europe flight for all 3 of these carriers?

What about just west coast to Europe service from just the US airlines?

UA #934 - B772
AA #136 - B772
VS #24 - A346
BA #268 - B744
NZ #2 - B772

BA and VS have double daily frequencies LAX-LHR (in summer BA increases to 17 or 18 per week all on 744) VS services were split last summer between x1 daily 744 and x1 daily 346.

Quoting C680 (Reply 10):
LAX-FRA
LH #457 - B744

Believe this is also double daily.

Plus AI has 5x week LAX-FRA continuing to BOM

Quoting C680 (Reply 10):
LAX-CDG
AF #65 - B772
AF #69 - B777

TN also flies LAX-CDG - used to be daily but reduced to 4x? week

Other transatlantic airlines not mentioned yet; FI, OA, OK, LO, MA, OS, KU, SN....endless list seemingly

You guys seem to be concentrating on US-Europe, wasn't the question 'transatlantic'? What about Canada, Mexico, Caribbean? Or Middle East, South Africa, Morocco? ETC!

LAX-SVO is not transatlantic, uses the polar route, probably more transpacific than transatlantic.

Believe this is also double daily.

It is usually 10x per week (with LH450/451 being the other flight) in the winter and 2x per day in the summer.

Aer Lingus (in December)

Dublin - Shannon - Boston - Shannon - Dublin (Daily A330-300)
Shannon - Dublin - Chicago O'Hare - Dublin - Shannon (Daily A330-300)
Dublin - Los Angeles - Dublin (3 x Weekly A330-200)
Dublin - New York JFK - Dublin (Daily A330-300)
Dublin - Shannon - New York JFK - Shannon - Dublin (10 x Weekly A330-200/300)
Dublin - New York JFK - Shannon - Dublin (4 x Weekly A330-200/300)

Arrivals per Week
BOS - 7
ORD - 7
LAX - 3
JFK - 21

Note:- EI tends to send a mixture of -200s and -300s on the EI107/108/109/111/112 services to and from New York. No doubt things will steady out following the winter maintenance visits. Also, with the addition of two new A330s to the fleet in a few months, the summer schedule will I believe include double daily routes to Boston, Chicago and New York, with a daily service to Los Angeles.
Most Flown:- G-BUVA (20 Flights), EI-DEB (12 Flights), EI-JFK (11 Flights)

Seattle has a whopping 4 - yes count them 4 - direct flights to Europe.

BA to LHR
NW to AMS
SK to CPH
SU to Moscow (not really Europe, I suppose?)

We need more!!!!

My wish list:

AF to CDG
LH to FRA

and AMS route should be operated by KLM instead of NW

We even lost that last year. It was supposed to come back this past summer, but never did. I think the long history of Russian aviation and Seattle is finally over  Sad.

Those are at the top of my list also. Our current service is great, but BA and KL are often very full (as is SK), but SK doesn't offer as many connecting possibilities as the other two. There are persistent rumors around AF, so we'll see. We did see some expansion this year though, when BA went double daily on certain days of the week.

I was thinking that all of Russia was in Asia - but a quick search, I see that anything in Russia west of the Urals is considered Europe - my mistake.

Thanks rwSEA - I hadn't really paid attention to that route and hadn't realized they weren't flying it anymore - I thought it was a popular route?

The list is long and so many possibilities.

North America - Europe
North America - Africa
North America - Asia (Middle East routes flown via the Atlantic and India flights)

South America - Europe
South America - Africa

Central America is included in North America.

Where does one really start? And with whom?

Not sure we'll ever see these. LH already flies from YVR and PDX - not sure another route from the area would make sense. Especially since UA has Seattle tied up for Star Alliance.

AF propably wouldn't want to p**s off thier code share partner Delta either. Not to mention the fact that AF's affiliation with KLM would cause competition for the code share to AMS on NW - what a cozy little family that SkyTeam!

Did you notice that BA downgraded their daily route from 747 to 777 through next May? The additional flight will be back next Summer as well.

Me too - I guess they decided that it would be better to move the flight to LAX. Too bad - it was cool to see SU flights here, especially when they were using the Russian aircraft.

Quoting SeattleFlyer (Reply 23):

I've heard this excuse quite a bit, but I don't think that many people are going to PDX/YVR to take LH to Europe. Unless the fare is REALLY REALLY good, I think most people would take BA/KL/SK and connect, or just go through ORD/JFK/ATL/etc.

Quoting SeattleFlyer (Reply 23):

I don't think AF would p**s off DL at all by starting this route, because DL doesn't operate it and probably has no plans to ever offer it. NW has been rumored though, along with AF. Maybe we'd see it one day when NW gets the 787. That said, I think it would be daily during the summer, 3-4x weekly in winter.

Quoting SeattleFlyer (Reply 23):

Actually, I just checked BA's website, and it looks like they're doing 10x weekly even during the winter. I didn't look to see what aircraft, but even if they're all 777, that's at least the same capacity as last winter, if not more. Last summer, all frequencies were with the 744.
