Earning Elite With CO Question

Sat Dec 16, 2006 4:25 am

Okay, so I have 21,327 elite qualifying miles with CO this year.
I am going to take a trip, ANC-DAL-ANC with them at the very end of December. That'll be 7,530 miles.
My question is, since the miles don't typically get credited until a week or so after I make a trip, will they be credited as taken under THIS year for elite qualification, or will they bump to next year?

I'd really like to make silver with CO, it'd sure have some nice perks. Compared to the normal, outstanding everyday benefits of OnePass standard status.  Yeah sure

Thanks for your advice,

Randy

They will be credited as of the date flown for elite qualifying purposes. If they aren't for some reason, call OnePass and have them correct the posting.

When in doubt, ask here (a lot will help you out more qualified than me) or call the OnePass desk.

Sometimes the CO website doesn't get too specific when questions need answering.

Enjoy the trip , regardless.

I will miss my requal as I had to change my IAH-AMS flight to 3 Jan instead of home on the 30th. Darn.. Okay I was just ranting since I will not requal this year LOL

And to keep this on topic as everyone said it is from the day flown. OnePass customer service has been good to me and you should have no problems if you call.
I've had a rash of partner purchases not show up in the last few months. I have made a lot of calls and mailed a lot of Receipts. I think CO has problems with APO box numbers and the State code AE for the mailing address because as soon as I moved to Europe I started having issues with my OnePass stuff.

Okay rant over. I still love you co  Wink

I am confused here maybe! Are you using miles for a reward ticket or are you buying a ticket?

If you're using miles to get a reward ticket you won't be earning the miles for your trip thus you won't get to your Siver Elite status unless you're already there with 30+ segments.

If you're purchasing a ticket for this ANC trip then you will be Silver Elite as soon as you pass the required miles or segments, so if you go over 25,000 miles flown on the way out to ANC and return this calendar year you should be showing as Siver Elite on your boarding pass for the return flights. If you don't return until Jan 1, 2007, or later then those miles go into 2007 elite miles.

Hope that helps and it is confusing at times....enjoy your trip on CO.

I have never... EVER... received all of the parter miles I was due. Every Christmas, I do all my shopping with OnePass partners... and in three years, I am still short thousands of miles.

I now try to stick with the reliable ones- Godiva (for mum), Barnes and Noble for many others on my list, etc. Office Depot doesn't let me down, either.

Wow, you mean I could be elite on my return trip!?!? That would be crazy!
No, I am certainly savvy enough to know that you don't earn miles when you use them.

Also, am I correct in understanding that elite status is good for the entire next calendar year? So, until Dec 31, 2007 I would be a silver, right?

Thanks for all your info, folks.

It sucks when you have to be the one chasing what is due, but go get 'em. They are yours. Sometimes I feel companies count on people not claiming what they are due. Then there are those who make sure. So make sure.

If your outbound trip posts before your return, yes. You won't have your card yet, of course, and some airlines don't update PNRs with a new status level immediately (not sure how CO does it).

Elite status is valid through the program year in which you qualified, as well as the following year.

Mine get normally credited on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays right after a flight so you may get the credit to be elite on the way back.

I apoligize, that was my bad in how I read your post, the "them" I took as using miles rather than meaning CO! Whoops, sorry.  dopey
