US 914 Flew PHL-MDT

Sat Dec 16, 2006 6:27 am

I'm trying to solve a mystery: Why did US 914, a 762 that was supposed to fly PHL-MUC, file PHL-MDT last night? It looks like it actually did fly the route too. It took off about 8:15 and landed at MDT about 40 minutes later. It couldn't have been a fog diversion if they filed PHL-MDT.

Their website doesn't offer any info on the outbound. Flight MUC-PHL (993) operated ontime, today.

The portion of flight 914 that flew into MDT last night (12/14/06) was SFO-PHL. The flight was holding due to weather in PHL and diverted to MDT for fuel and to wait out the weather. The aircraft was an A319 and not a 767.

Sometimes FlightAware shows the aircraft arriving at its original destination even though it was diverted. Not sure why sometimes you actually see the flight diverted and sometimes you don't.

On a side note...MDT picked up a lot of extra traffic this week due to the weather in PHL. US, UA, and NW diverted aircraft to MDT. Those aircraft included 757, A319/A320, DC9, and numerous RJ's.

Would've loved to see the Airbusses and the 757s, as they're rare here in MDT.

The one daily mainline run by US is an A319. Today (12/17) it was an A320 to CLT.
