Status Of HA's Ex-DL 767-300

Sat Dec 23, 2006 5:13 am

What is the status of these planes. I am aware of only one in service, still with DL interior. The other three have been given new overhead bins but still awaiting FAA certification. Why did HA decide to change the interiors if FAA will be giving them a hard time? Also, AA's 767-300s are having new bins installed in Business Class. Why will AA's planes be exempt from all the red tapes from FAA?

The three A/C (596, 597, 598) have not arrived yet, 596 is awaiting certification while the extra work required on it has slowed the work on the other 2. Last I heard it is "hoped that it will arrive next week" which it what we've been hearing since Thanksgiving.

Flights continue to be rescheduled (LAS and PHX seem to be the lucky ones this weekend), and OGG-SAN is on hiatus for part of January as a result.

When you say rescheduled, what in terms does that mean. They are canceling certain flights completely?

For example, on Thanksgiving I was scheduled to work a PHX trip and instead of leaving at its normal time of 1510, the departure was re-timed to 2230 that night. Our reservation dept. notified as many passengers of the new departure time. The flight attendants were notified a few days earlier. Some flights have been cancelled or consolidated with another flight which is not very popular with the passengers or crew.

As Pualani said, rescheduled usually just means retimed within a few hours of the normal time to optimize A/C usage. Each week a few flights are retimed by as much as 12-24 hours earlier or later than the original time. The resrvations department is working really hard to contact people and affected passengers get a $200-300 travel voucher.

Being that I am at the bottom of the seniority list I have worked quite a few flights which were operating 12 hours late (2:00am departures).
