Sat Dec 23, 2006 8:54 am

Hi, I need a few useful books on aviation economy and A vs B etc... to be more specific, I'm doing a 40 page essay on the "Evolution of the Super-liner",it will be historical, but mostly based on economics... Your help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!  Smile

"The Evolution of the Super-Liner" doesn't mean much to me, unfortunately.

I would say Hard Landing, by Thomas Petzinger. Are you looking for information just on jumbo jets or the airline in general. Hard Landing is about the entire airline industry, but is focused almost solely on economics.

I always recommend running some keyword searches on Google Scholar. You'll find both articles (some free online) as well as book references.

ABI/Inform, JSTOR, and Lexis/Nexis are some good bibliography databases from which you can search for keywords. Do you have access to "interlibrary loan", like we do in the states? Good way to get articles and books sent to you for free.

Just to make it clear for those who don't understand my subject, it's the changes in civil aviation from the very beginning, I will mostly need material on the bigger aircraft such as the DC-4 (for its time) DC-6/7 and Constellation... and with the jets, those that really marked civil aviation like the 707, 747, 757, 767, 777 etc... plus all the others like DC-10, MD-11, A300, A310, A330/340, A380 etc...
I will for sure need to include A vs. B... inevitable. Books would be welcome!
