Security Measure's For Working At An Airport?

Sun Dec 31, 2006 10:27 am

Well, to start I have a Misdemeanor A Conviction, for Forgery, a stupid thing I did when I turned 17, so it is on my adult record.  banghead  Just to clear thing up I live in New Hampshire, here you are considered an adult when you are 17.

Long story short I was offered a job at MHT for U.S. Airways. As a Ramp Agent, I would definately love to work for US or any other airline, but I'm not sure I will pass the Airport's background check. I told the Airline about my conviction's and they said it should be fine, but I was fingerprinted and I guess my prints are being checked by the FBI in Washington. Because I would need Unescorted access to the Tarmac, and what not.

So I didn't know if anyone had any more insight than I do in to this matter. Thanks alot for your help.

As long as its a misdemeanor, not a felony, you should probably be OK.

Correct, same situation (misdemeanor conviction) and I hold unescorted AOA access badges at two airports. As long as you didn't try to hide anything, a complete application with a misdemeanor shouldn't be a problem.

edit: Forgery is not a very good practice in the airline industry- but I suspect as a ramper it won't hold you back. As an A&P mech, I doubt you'd have much of a career with that on your record, but I could be wrong.
