NW "premium" Seats In A330?

Mon Jan 01, 2007 9:58 pm

Happy New Year!

I was fiddling around with our NWA booking online and realised that for our LGW - DTW sector, they've seated us in the forward economy section, which is labelled as "premium" (why, I don't know... but hey!)

Question: what's the difference between the forward and rear economy sections? What makes these seats "premium"?

No different seats, they are just the better (more popular) seats in economy ie first few rows and exit seats. These are usually held back for frequent flyers or can be pre-reserved for $15!!! Details on www.nwa.com.

The premium seats you are referring to have an inch or 2 more pitch as well as power ports. The seats are identical to the rear Y zone. The first reply is talking about the domestic program, called coach choice. This is only on the domestic flights as "P" seats remain free internationally.

And for what ever reason, this Y cabin with the extra pitch is only available on the A330-300, and not the -200. Amazing what those two extra inches of pitch do for comfort on an 8 hour flight...

The front of Y on the 330s also have 75W 110V A/C power ports, while the rear of Y doesn't.

There's also "P" seats (as seen during seat assignment), which are reserved for Elites. Believe those are the aisle seats of the front of Y.
