As stated above, this order was announced by Adam Air, but never confirmed by Airbus, so we'll have to presume that it was a case of mere wishful thinking on behalf of the airline.
As a sidenote, about a year and a half ago, this same airline announced in the local media that Qantas of Australia was about to take a 40% stake in Adam. Speculations were immediately riding high here on airliners.net about QF
's imminent disposal of its B734 fleet to Adam, but as with so many announcements by Indonesian airline companies at large, nothing ever came of it. I very much doubt that QF
ever even considered such a much.
