JFK Terminal 7 Question

Sun Jan 14, 2007 9:59 am

I stumbled upon this excellent diagram of Terminal 7 at JFK on ANA's website. Anyhow, I seem to recall some former security checkpoints in T7 last time I was there. I circled them in red on the image below...I was just wondering if anyone knows when these security checkpoints were closed.

Also, was the old Concorde club airside or landside, and what is it used for today? Thanks.

Hi RJ...
There are two security check points in the British Airways terminal. The "North Ramp" is for all classes/carriers. The "West Ramp" is for First/Club/Business customers who have checked in on that side of the terminal. It's only open during peak hours.

The east checkpoint has been shut for quite some time now.

Thanks for the info. It is funny that 4 oneworld carriers share it with 3 Star Alliance airlines. Any idea if in the future JFK will have a dedicated oneworld terminal and a dedicated Star one?

The "B" gate was open when I left on IB 12/20. The First/Business class security line was actually the left lane of the main security check-point. The passengers that seemed to be going through the "B" gate were America West passengers going straight to gates 1/2, where they usually leave from, and Ice Air people too, though most everyone else goes through the main security line. I've never found the security line at T7 overwhelmingly long, even when BA is operating 744's just about every hour to half-hour. The flow seems to work.

When I flew out of Terminal 7 back in June on Iberia to MAD we used the security check point to where the 2 is pointing to. The gate was 3 I believe.

Pretty sure the Concorde lounge is now just a regular British Airways lounge?

Incidentally the terminal is very nice however it gets very crowded!

I've looked up JFK website and it seems that there are 4 star carriers at T7 (ANA, Air Canada, United and US airways) along with non-alligned Icelandair.

Also there is LAN in T4 (one daily flight to LIM), along with future members JAL and Royal Jordanian. Aer Lingus also uses this terminal but it will soon leave the alliance.

So Malev and Finnair in T8-9 with AA (being JFK the only airport they serve in the USA it makes perfect sense, lowering the minimum connecting time)

so only Royal Jordanian, JAL and LAN would need to move to T7. It would be nice if T7 has the spare room.

Royal Jordanian arrives at 16:00 and departs at 23:00 (peak time)
JAL arrives at 10:00 and departs at 11:55
LAN arrives at 07:30 and departs at 22:30

JAL wouldn't see room problems, LAN neither if the aircraft is towed to a remote parking but Royal Jordanian would see the terminal when most flights depart. But they could always go along AA.
