In Spanish:
http://www.eltiempo.com/nacion/2007-...ULO-WEB-NOTA_INTERIOR-3398580.html

It says that although is been said that the victims are 14, only 4 bodies have been found.

The aircraft, an Aero-commander type with registration YV246CP went down around 7pm local time of Saturday the 13th.

Based on the Civil Aeronautics information, the plane departed from Maracaibo in Venezuela with final destination Panama city.
The pilot was: Jose Rosendo Diaz and the other three occupants were: Ruben Diaz, Jose Angulo Lopez & Gladys Baylouni.

The rescue mission is going to be difficult because everything is completely disintegrated, said the commander of the 10th Brigade of the Army, which operates in the zone. He also said that a patrol of soldiers in the zone, saw the plane falling. The soldiers said that they saw the plane falling vertically and in flames and then impacted the mountain. The commander also said that the Civil authorities told him that the plane was able to carry only 8 persons and not 14 as it has been said.

It could be something like this:

Isn't this about the same location, where the West MD80 crashed August 05?

Cheers

The West MD-80 crashed 20 miles away into Venezuela, near the border. This site is in the middle of the department of Cesar. Though it´s kinda near, its still isn´t the same site and it doesn´t have the same ground conditions.

BTW, I hope the best for the victims families so they can find their relatives.

It seems now that there were 4 occupants and not 14 as it had been informed.

According to witnesses the small plane had problems before it hit the ground. Further, it has transpired that the plane was refused permission to continue on Colombian territory and to go back to Venezuela, so instructed by the Colombian ATC when they failed to turn on their transponder when asked.

It could seem close, but this one was in the a Colombian state/province called "Cesar" and the West Caribbean crash was in Venezuela near Machiques.

Makes sense, an Aero Commander can only take 8 including the pilot, so 14 would have been extremely uncomfortable if not impossible.

Hmm look what I found:

44 26-oct-94 YV-246CP Calabozo Narcotraficantes 5 Devuelto por Colombia.

That says that the 26/09/1994 this plane had been hijacked by drug dealers with 5 people onboard and it was returned by the Colombian government.

RIP to the victims.
