MX @ IAD/DCA On CRJ700

Sun Jan 14, 2007 10:55 pm

Who has maintenance facilities at IAD and or DCA for CRJ 200/700s? Can anyone shed some light on where the hangars are and what type of mx they do?

Really need information on DCA more than IAD.

Thanks

I doubt any airline has a dedicated maintenance facility at DCA for CRJs. If any, it would be US Airways. Airlines likely contract with one of the on site maintenance companies for any needs that come up.
Airliners.net has many forums. It has spell check and search functions. Use them before posting!

I posted cause there is a huge push for CRJ qualified A&P's (hiring through Aerotek, and JSFirm). The only one that came up on industry websites is Bombardier for DCA and W-VA, but no mention of IAD (possible airline?).

Thanks for the Bombardier confirm SAAB. Now the next question, know anyone who works for them?

The only hangar I remember in DCA was Northwest's over near Signature....and that was 8 years ago. The FAA had a hangar there as well. I'm sure they are looking for overnight gate maintenance....outside. The biggest airlines would be Mesa at IAD and PSA at DCA.

I do not know who works for Bombardier at DCA, but I would assume Bombardier mechanics.

Sorry for the lame answer, but I just don't know. I fly the CRJ at DCA and when we have had MX come to the airplane, they come in Bombardier-labeled vehicles.

US has a huge hangar at DCA on the north side of the field.

I think US does their own mx on 737s and a320s on the field. I'm trying to find out if PSA does any hangar mx at dca or if it is just outside line checks, dmi's as states in an earlier post.
