US Airways PAY Scale

Can anyone inform me what the salary payscale is at US Air.......particularly a grade 26 or 27......thanks.

All the pay scales stink right now, does not matter which union.

They will until the company signs new contracts with them all.

We all want a transition agreement.

We employees should block any attempt being made by HP/US to buy Delta, until all transition agreements with all unions are signed.

Our union, the IAM, couldn't care less, as long as they can make money off our union dues. We'd be better off without a union like DL, and a lot of people here are openly talking about merging with DL and voting out the IAM with the huge number of new employees. I don't even know what my own pay scale looks like anymore, much less anybody else's. I just got a raise on Saturday, and I don't even know how much it was, and won't until my next paycheck.

Many years ago when you were still riding a tricycle, the US rampers were thinking the same thing. Times were good, the company was good, the union sucked.(Teamsters)

They too thought that they were better off without a union. The got rid of the union and waited to get what they really deserved. They didn't have to wait long. Split shifts, loss of seniority, loss of full time status, costs of benefits were raised, and many other things. Everything turned to shit, and they were treated as the second class citizens that the company always thought they were. They couldn't wait to get a union back. Any union.

What makes you think it would be any better this time?
The times suck, the company sucks, and the union still sucks. For some reason though, you feel that you are better off with NO protection than with the little bit that you do actually have.

If you would have run that belt loader into an engine without a union, you would have been taking that picture from outside of the fence.

Be careful of what you wish for. You may just get it.

The ramp is a busy place. Even the best employee can have an accident.
Without a union our company would have fired him on the spot. He would not have even been given a chance to explain the circumstances.

I have 18 years with this company. I have seen them do many ruthless things.
It's true that the union must protect the bad eggs too, but that is a small price to pay for all of the good eggs that were protected by a union contract. This is coming from a hard core Republican business owner.

Yeah sure just ask all the EX DL rampers and cargo employees who are out of a job....They had a chance to vote in a union in but they trusted DL and that trust put them out of a job.... sad that we seem to forget the many people who are no longer part of the "family".....

good thing all those CO rampers have a union to keep their job.......oh wait, they still have all their jobs w/o a Union!!

also, most companies aren't going to fire you on the spot if you have an accident with an airplane.....certain senarios play out, based on your history of accidents.........

Piedmont Ramp is Non-Union and someone did a 3 point hook up and he yanked the airstart nozzle out of the CRJ, and the result was he was not terminated, he just took a drug test and returned to work.. Why? cause he at least notified a Supervisor. lol

I found that hilarious.

The catch is which you get, SALARY GRADE 26/27 or HOURLY 26/27

26 and 27 are in the Non-Union Category, usually a Shift Manager level, and thats a salary position. You get holidays off, but no overtime at all.

Here is a depressing example at US. a PHX accountant in Revenue Accounting and Receivables starts at grade 23 and thats 24,000 per year. The average work day for the revenue accounting department is 9-10 hours due to excess job duties. Comp time is usually the only thing you may get if approved.

24,000 for an Accountant.... HAHA thats cause its an AIRLINE, not a private company. The most embarrassing thing I have heard was trying to find a CPA willing to work that salary. Big grin

Salary review is every August for non-union jobs, you may get a raise based on your performance, the company situation, or no raise at all if the company isnt doing well.

As a Team Lead I'm grade 21 (oe maybe 22?) At 8 1/2 years I'm making $12.68/hour. I'll go up to $16.87/hour assuming the IAM transition agreement doesn't change pay. A grade 26 is probably at least Shift Manager/Supervisor.

wow...........that sure is crap for a 27..........i was browsing through the jobs on the net adn saw Manger of Express Planning at a grade 27.

Another Note, I am not familiar yet with the 1XX payscale rates. They are like some departmental difference in the main office. but they apply to some CLERK jobs, which would be a senior clerk at 22/23 and some other clerk would be 101 or 103 etc.

you can always try to negotiate a higher rate of compensation if you get an offer for that position.

US WEST is changing SUPERVISOR to SHIFT MANAGER. The titling is being changed.

current Customer Service Supervisors will be placed in the Agent payroll (leads) It will be AGENTS ===> LEADS ====> Shift Managers. ==> Department Head (Senior Manager) ====> Station Manager

Shift Manager will soon be the first non-union leadership position you reach, the rest will be union pay scales.

US Express Pay (for Piedmont Stations) is 8.25 start. The ten year top out is around 12.75.

What does EN have to do with this thread? EN does not participate in the PAY SCALE system. That is used only with Mainline US. and WEST AND EAST have different numbers still.

Its a 1 dollar differential for EN in BOS/LGA/DCA though, so that would be 9.25 in those cities for an agent.

Not really. I have to work 40 hours in my scheduled week (I work SUN-WED), then work Thurday and Friday at 1 1/2 to get 2X on Saturday. Under the IAM contract and payscale, my 1 1/2 will be similar to 2X on HPs payscale. Double time for every hour of OT basically  Smile
