Spirit New Service To Aguadilla, Puerto Rico

From today's Miami Herald:

Miramar-based Spirit Airlines said today it will launch nonstop service five times a week from Fort Lauderdale to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. The flights will begin April 12.

wow, NK is going crazy down there. Since it's PR, no customs needed in FLL, right??

Right.

The service will be an A319 and will become daily in June.

I wonder if AA is going to follow suit (from MIA)...they don't like what NK is doing, quite obviously.

It's hard to believe there are no secondary PR cities served from SFLA. NYC OTOH, has multiple flights to PSE, and BQN.

The proper term is "on final" not "on finals" bud...

Well the reason was simple: American Airlines doesn't have an interest in flying to secondary cities in Puerto Rico. They have flown MIA-BQN and MIA-PSE in the past, untiol the mid-1990s.

I won't be shocked if Ponce is next for Spirit.
