First 787 Parts Are Delivered To Charleston

Wed Jan 17, 2007 12:02 pm

This was mentioned in another thread about the LCF.

Thought it deserved its own thread.
Boeing Dreamlifter Delivers First Assemblies for 787 Dreamliner

The nice people at Vought/Alenia North America (Global Aeronautica) have a little website for the Charleston location for the 787. How kind.
South Carolina Site Update

The 787 parts from Japan are now in Charleston for assembly with Vought & Alenia parts before being flown back to Seattle for final assembly with parts that are sent directly to Seattle.

Sections 47-48 from Vought
Sections 43 from Kawasaki Heavy
Secion 11/45 from Fuji Heavy
(Please correct me if I got these sections wrong.)

Vought's 787 site

1) Anyone know when sections from Italy are to be delivered? What sections are they? The page says 43-46 but 43 and 11/45 are from Japan.

2) What airport does the LCF fly into in Italy for picking up the parts? (Talked about once but never clarified)

3) What is the taget date for first roll out?
