What Happened To SQ1? Diverted To ICN For 4 Hrs

For the past few weeks SQ1 has been frequently diverted to TPE onroute to HKG from SFO. But last night's schedule looks weird. It seems to have been diverted to ICN, which is surprising and stayed there for 4.5 hrs. Does anyone know what is the story?

Moreover, the scheduled times in HKG and SIN have been changed. Any info on this?

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense! I guess we can assume it wasn't a tech stop. I'm curious about this one too.

Just speculating, but it could be that the flight that stopped at ICN had a more northerly route on that particular day; they decided to stop at ICN because the FMC projected that, due to headwinds, they wouldn't have sufficient fuel (or sufficient fuel remaining, based on the airline's limits) to get to HKG.

Then, when they landed at ICN, there could have been a crew hour issue, so they had to find an extra crewmember (or crewmembers) to fly the ICN-HKG leg; SQ operates a crew base at ICN (although whether it has 744s, I'm not sure). Alternatively, it could be that the aircraft just had a technical issue and it required work on it by KE engineers before it could be dispatched to HKG.

SQ prefers a fuel stop to be in TPE. So ICN is surprising. Lets see if the SQ folks have some info on this.
