Aviation X Environment: Is It An Easy Target?

Sat Jan 20, 2007 12:14 am

Recent pressure from several sources on the aviation industry with regards to its impacts on the environment has been a critical subject lately.

Aviation has been directly connected to the economic growth of countries and contributed to the process of globalisation which we currently live in nowadays.

However, serious environmental issues seem to be reaching advanced stages (emissions, noise effects, traffic congestions, airports/airlines' over expansion, etc...) and the industry is being criticised to be a major part of the problem.

Do you believe that aviation is an easy target compared to the other industries? Is it a fair target?

Are we reaching the point to impose limits on the continuous current growth?

Does anyone know what is being done about it or have any ideas in terms of what we should do in the future?
