I'm a former No Limits! intern.
Read the book NUTS! and you will get a good insight into what Southwest is looking for in their employees.
My GPA was on the higher side of the scale.
I actually thought I screwed it up. I was kind of out of it because I had spent the previous hour buried in a puzzle that was in the People Department lobby.
Lots of "Tell Me About A Time When..." Questions. In the end, I prepared well for the interview and had good answers lined up ready to go. That was my saving grace.
I LUVed it! I did some awesome and interesting things. They aren't kidding with the No Limits! title. They really do let you explore the company.

From doing some basic internet research, it seems like a lot of the airlines out there take advantage of their interns to be an assistant secretary, but I could be totally wrong.
Depends on the internship really and your associated duties. Southwest is not one to make you fetch coffee and make copies, but you will be doing some tedious things at times. I did a lot of research at my internship and as you probably know, research is not always the most exciting thing the world.
However, the results were pretty useful and interesting! I definitely felt like part of the team and was able to do some very valuable things for the company.
