LH A330-300 At DFW

Sat Jan 27, 2007 5:40 am

I was walking my dog a few minutes ago and saw LH438 from FRA arrive at DFW, and the plane was an A333 rather than the usual A343. Anyone know why the change of equipment? I'm scheduled to fly LH in a few days would rather fly the A340. I've only flown the A340 once before and I'm looking forward to this flight.

I'd think you'd be happy. Well, they're practically the same aircraft...

It wouldn't be for that reason. The 333 carries the same amount of pax as the 343. If it was a 346, then that would be a definite solution. Probably just a last minute equipment sub..

Not from DFW. The current DFW-FRA schedule shows a 333 on day 5 and 343 all other days.

LH in the winter usually downgrades to a A330. It has something to do with the Business class/First class. I believe the the A330 is in 2 classes and when they fly the A340 in it has 3 classes.

All of the A333's are 3-class (8-48-165). The A332's are in a 2-class config and those really don't make it to the US. The A333 flies to DFW on Fridays and a 3-class A343 for Saturdays and Sundays. Monday through Thursday it's a 2-class A343.

Monday - Thursday: A343 2-Class (C44 M222)
Friday: A333 3-Class (F8 C48 M165)
Saturday & Sunday: A343 3-Class (F8 C36 M197)

A little confusing. Definitely one of the more erratic schedules for LH in the US.

I knew some part of it was 2 class, I just didn't know which days, haven't been at DFW for a while.

thanks,

as far as I know all A332 of LH left the fleet last year. Only A333, A343 and A346 still flying around.
