Has Reduction Of IB's BCN Hub Begun?

Sun Feb 04, 2007 12:51 am

As we all know, Iberia has decided to withdraw from/ reduce their hub in BCN and instead focus on its megahub in MAD T4. Routes from BCN to a variety of domestic and international destinations have already been transfered to low cost daughter Clickair.

Now I have noticed (by browsing the computer reservation system at iberia.com) that, starting with the next winter timetable, there are no longer nonstop flights from BCN to:

LCG
LEI
XRY
LEN
MAH
MJV
IBZ
EAS
SDR
SVQ
VLC
VGO

As well as between the Baleares and VLC and ALC.

Is this already part of the planned reduction or have these flights just not been released for booking yet?

Not only has it begun, it is going full steam ahead.
Gone already are flights to SVQ, AGP.
Next to go are LCG, SCQ, VGO, CMN, RAK, VIE, DUB, FRA, AMS.
Also frecuencies to TLV and IST will be reduced.

Some of the destinations you wrote about are operated by Air Nostrum (LEI, LEN, MJV, EAS, SDR) so they have probably not been loaded yet.
Otros vendrán que bueno te harán
