Brand New Series Of Air Crash Investigation

Mon Feb 05, 2007 2:10 am

Begins Monday 5th February 9pm.

All Engines Failed!

On 24 June 1982, the engines of British Airways Flight 009 stopped. Minutes before it crashed into the sea, the engines roared back to life, saving all onboard.

The volcano did it. Now you don't have to watch.  Big grin

Excellent programme. The BA009 flight to Perth is really authentic - right down to the uniforms.

Looking forward to watching the new series, just watched the Air France incident at YYZ. Interesting to see an Airliners.net member interviewed by the National Geographic channel.

Watched it after seeing the adverts in just about every UK newspaper. Strange to think that i actually flew on that aircraft (G-BDXH), albeit a decade and a half later.

I've seen him on the forums a few times, he was on the AF A340 that overshot the runway at YYZ.

I watched a re-run of this episode and I have to disagree. This accident happened in 1982, except when they are taking a shot of the old woman and her mother, the BA logo in the background is the latest logo which was designed in 1997.

Just to be pernickity.

Well if you want to go down that road, then the livery was wrong as well, as the Landor livery did not come out until late 1984  Wink

In the United States the program is called "Air Emergency." It is on The National Geographic Channel. I do not know when the new season 4 starts here.

You can find more information on the programs at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Crash_Investigation
Worked Hard. Flew Right. Farewell, Continental. Thanks for the memories.
