Usualy for good pics out of Everett and the flight testing done there go to: www.microvoltradio.com and click on "Paine Field" The pics are really good and are updated practically everyday. I'm sure there'll be pics of AI 772LR by the end of today.

Here a picture of AI's first 77L on the takeoff roll in PAE. BTW: It's currently wearing the test registration N5817V (if I read it correctly, don't know if the third digit is an 8 or a 6).

EDIT: Current test registration is N5017V.

Do they not?!?! I find it hard to believe that they're only an inch or so larger than a normal 77ER engine. Maybe it's our minds making the engines appear larger realizing it's the longest flying commercial model in the world..

Have heard that the cowling as same as that of 77W, so I would think it is more psychological.

Congratulations Alia Group and Air India for this nice re-vitalization!

From the AI Marketing letter

The new livery is based on Air India's market positioning being built
around the platform of - " A Tradition of Warmth". The imagery retains
all elements of its glorious history - including the 'jharokas' - and
in
fact seeks to take it to the next level of elegance.

As the national carrier it is intended to represent the new emerging
India which is deeply rooted in its tradition and history, yet
contemporary and confident of its future and emerging importance on the
world stage.

The cream color and a deeper red complement convey the
warmth and hospitality that Air India is known for - with the gold
trimmings emphasising a premium product and service. The dynamic, bold
and gold coloured Centaur on its tail and engines whilst displaying
vitality -

proudly captures the heritage and history of the 75 glorious
years of Air India.

Same color different reasons.
But in the end cream is just a dull color. Its just not as sharp. I like the deep red color but it would have been great livery with the white, instead with the cream its just a good livery.
