You mean like when JAL moved their North American HQ
and the "might ANA" moved for no other reason than the fact that JAL did? JAL had expired leases in New York and San Francisco, and w/available space, El Segundo was chosen. Additionally, at the end of the US business day you could communicate w/Tokyo as their day started. ANA didn't even to a cost study - they just upped and moved. This was told to me by someone who used to be a top manager w/them.
