Is United The Only Airline Offering Audio On..?

Sat Feb 10, 2007 8:56 am

Hello all

I was wondering is United Airlines the only airline offering audio channel 9 to hear the control tower and pilots talking prior to take off and landing? This video is awesome you can hear the Control Tower talking to a pilot on AC 849, and UA pilot. Here's the link. http://flightlevel350.com/Aircraft_B..._Airlines_Aviation_Video-6860.html

Its nice for UA to share their conversations with the passengers. Mind you I've sat in the flight deck for take off and landing when my dad was flying the B767-200ER.

As far as I know...AFAIK....UAL is the only offering audio. There are several non USA carriers offering external aircraft video....now combine that with audio and you would have a great match worthy of trying to find a way to record it to your laptop...grin

Yes. Regrettably, no other airline carries this feature.

Just one more reason to fly United, among many.

I would love to see boeing make this a standard feature on the 787. They are making so many extras standard features and are not allowing the airlines to remove them to keep everything standard.

Of course thats wishful thinking. But its a great way to be competitive, and with all the IFE on airplanes today, it wouldn't cost a lot to implement either I don't think.
