MIAT flies on Sundays.

MIAT operates day 7

Spiegel online reports it an A310 of Germanwings. Airport is Vnukovo. If its Germanwings its not a 310 but a 319.

let's see what goes on.

Also thought of MIAT!

Just checked the arrival board of Berlin Airports.

We have

4U 8991 from VKO-SFX : A319

AB 8353 from DME-TXL: B733

SU 113 from SVO-SFX: A320

I hope its none of them. I just wrote it, because we know how media is getting confused with airplane types.

What about the A310 of the German Airforce???

Best regards Tom

Unlikely to be Germawings, since they dont operate the A310, AFAIK. Maybe S7? They have a large 310 fleet, dont they?

Well I hope everyone emerges from this accident OK.

Now, if it is VKO and Germanwings and a flight to Berlin, then this could be flight 4U8991 VKO-TXL leaving 15h45 LT which is 14H45 CET. Radio news just basically confirms this with the exception of "A310" which cannot be true. No pax on board, which, if it is really 4U8991 is not that likely, unfortunately.

Let's hope the best.

They also report that a second aircraft "crashed" as well, a Challenger.

From Sky News

Quote:

An airliner has crashed in a snowstorm on take-off at Moscow's Vnukovo airport.

The Russian Emergency Ministry says the plane was an Airbus A310 heading for Berlin.

The plane overturned while taking off and caught fire, air traffic controller Konstantin Fyodorov said on state-run television.

Quoting unidentified law enforcement officials, the Interfax news agency reported that the crew survived, although emergency officials could not immediately confirm the report.

The plane was not carrying passengers.

Sky's Moscow Correspondent Alex Rossi said: "The weather here in the last few hours has turned into a whiteout - they're forecasting the worst weather for years - which could make it very tricky for pilots."

More to follow...

........But at this moment it looks like the aircraft was NOT an A310 and NOT German wings.

........info still sketchy

I saw the foto! At first I thought it would be A320 family aircraft. But If you look closer to the right wheel of the aircraft it seems to have four wheels, which would lead to the fact that its really a A310!

An aircraft thought to be a small business jet has crashed at Moscow's Vnukovo airport, Russian officials say.
The plane, which was reported to be carrying crew but no passengers, is said to have crashed on take-off at about 1650 local time (1350 GMT).

It was heading from Moscow to Berlin. Early reports suggest three crew members were injured.

BBC reporters say there is a heavy snow storm in Moscow. No details have yet emerged of the cause of the crash.
