AA55 MAN-ORD Smoke IN Cockpit

Thu Feb 15, 2007 2:26 am

I was just talking to the pilot of the AA55 service to Chicago this afternoon and he was telling me that shortly after take off from Manchester smoke began to fill the cockpit after dumping some fuel he then reterned to Manchester where the aircraft will remain until the parts can be avaliable.
He was saying that the smoke smelt like a plastic burning smell but it was something to do with the window heat and for obvious reason's if the window doesn't remain heated it would freeze over during the cruise all 118 passengers have been put up in the Hilton Hotel overnight
