American Airlines Booking Codes

Thu Feb 15, 2007 5:40 am

So I just book a flight on AA and I noticed the booking codes were different so that sparked my interest. One segment is code N and the other is code O. So one of them is 8th tier economy which I guess provides ff miles, and the other is consolidator fare which provides no ff miles. So my questions are why dont they both provide ff miles and what does 8th tier economy mean?

There is a breadown of the class of service buckets and a pretty thorough explanation available at www.flyertalk.com. Depending on where you purchased it, what the market was, and what type of fare it was, you may yet get mileage on it.

You will get millage on an O fare, AA gives miles for every inventory, except AAdvantage award travel of course.
O and I inventories do not allow milage upgrades, and Q doesnt allow upgrades to South America, zones 1 and 2, Europe, Asia, and India.
An MD-80 is great... in first class
