Mexicana 763 To Be Parked At Pinal(MZJ)?

Sat Feb 17, 2007 2:32 am

A Mexicana 763 flew into TUS from MEX last night. I thought about posting something but figured it was a charter or something. This morning it flew to Pinal. It did not fly direct though. It flew the Tucson 6 (TUS6) departure then turned around to fly to MZJ. From looking at the flight track, it appears it did a fly-by at MZJ before coming around to land.

So is Mexican parking a 763?

Interesting, with no reg I cant´s say much, but maybe will be a new adition to MX´s fleet, MXE and MXC are flying to EZE, and the one retired is MXB, that´s now on full CeBit c/s, but i´ll try to find out later.

Wow what an interesting thing to see. I'm not sure as of why they would park one of their active 763 as their both being used.

So for sure it's about the MXB.
The lease of MXB finished somewhere around last year and it was going to a Russian airline. It was even painted in the new livery in the MX hangar. Maybe the airline did not take the aircraft or maybe the agreement was not reached.

Thanks for the info

Most probably it was ex. XA-MXB ferried to MZJ which is now ready to go to Russia for Aerosvit. XA-MXC and XA-MXE are very active flying 12X to EZE.

Does MX have any other 763s scheduled to come on line since they seem to be really streched for widebodies? Can someone educated me on this? It will greatly be apreciated.

Not for the moment. MX has only one long haul route which is EZE and it's served with the 763. The first 767 came some years ago from SAS ,the lease has now expired and it's supposed to go to a Russian airline. In order to take most of the EZE route MX brought two (very poor maintained) 763 one from LAB and the other one not sure exactly from where. So MX is not at the top of their long haul fleet as they've been in years!

The plans and rumors have always been of bringing some new or leased Airbus planes in order to open routes (specially to China because "we're so globalized" etc.. etc...) to Asia and maybe Europe. Unfortunately MX is not in the best position to acquire some new or leased aircraft specially if it's from a different manufacturer as they'll have to train people to fly Airbus' long haul fleet.

What probably could happen is that if things don't work out to well we'll just keep up bringing old 763 in order to mantain MX current long haul position.
