A320 For Vladivostok Air

Sat Feb 17, 2007 5:16 am

Vladivostok Air starts getting A320s to renew its fleet.
The first one, VP-BRB (MSN 0528) was delivered on Feb. 1st, 2007.
Here is a press release from Vladivostok Air which I find interesting for several reasons:
- nice livery,
- A320 named a "foreigner",
- comments about Airbus versus Boeing.

One must be carefull with the English wording which is not always be what it should.
It is also a press release made to justify the lease of A320s.
But again, I found it interesting, and a bit exotic.

The Airbus jetliner was mentioned to compete with the Boeing. Presently, it is widely recognized that Boeing has failed to find a competitive solution in 100-180 seats segment. The fact that Boeing-787 was designed on the basis of the Airbus’ cabin ergonomics proves this.

I'm sorry, but this has to be one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever read. Tell this to the 5000+ 737's flying out there.  banghead

Especially the -100s and -200s :P

If anybody wants to see some Tu Il or An aircraft you better get going to Russia, becuse soon it will be the only place to see them as airlines there get As or Bs in their fleet.

The jetliner’s cabin layout is wide and comfortable, with 2 salons for 150 passenger seats (12 business class seats and 138 economy class seats)... ...and the business class salon is wider which logically means more comfort for the passengers.

You learn something new every day. I didn't know that the forward part of the A320 cabin is wider than the aft part.  Smile

Airbus’ experience has also turned a great help for Russian engineers who are working to design a new Russian regional airplane.
